Chandni Chowk to China (2008) – Review

29 01 2009

Plot : An action-comedy about a simple cook from Chandni Chowk mistaken for the reincarnation of an ancient peasant warrior Liu Shengh by residents of an oppressed Chinese village.

Review : When I saw the trailer I thought this could be interesting, and it was.

Am not really into the Bollywood style just never got into it, nothing wrong with it its just something that has never grabbed me. This film mixes chinese action with bollywood action and does it very well.

Overall its an enjoyable film, with a lot of very interesting and cool scenes.

Just My Luck (2006) – Review

28 01 2009

Plot : Manhattanite Ashley is known to many as the luckiest woman around. After a chance encounter with a down-and-out young man, however, she realizes that she’s swapped her fortune for his.

Review : To be honest this felt like a McFly promotion rather than an easy to watch movie….though I only watched it as to have some sort of noise in the background while I did Second Life work.

Overall it was very poor and not very enjoyable, and the fact that McFly kept popping up every second was the big issue.

Twilight (Movie) (2008) – Review

27 01 2009

Plot : A teenage girl risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire.

Review : After reading the book which I really enjoyed, I was looking forward to seeing it adapted to a movie. The main reason I read it was, I was told that if i like Buffy I would like this….but the only thing the book/movie have in common is a vampire love story.

I liked the way the book was written, and how it drew you into the characters and story very easily.

I finally got to see the movie, and really enjoyed seeing it on the big screen and how close it looked to the book. From start to end, I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing the sequel.

Overall I really enjoyed it, though not as much as the book as it left out a lot of emotion and detail….but its very hard to get all that into a movie but they did very well.

The actors chosen for this was spot on, the soundtrack was very cool and the look was great. I had only ever heard of Kristen (Bella) from a friend who said she was in Panic Room (but i cant remember her in it) and enjoyed how she played Bella. Another actor that I liked was Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen), he was very good and came over just like the book.

I am looking forward to seeing what they do in New Moon, and how they do the whole changing to a wolf.

Dragon Productions Name Change

27 01 2009

I am considering a complete name change for Dragon Productions, why you ask….currently there is a Dragon Productions who deal in Media (didnt know that when I created it in 2001).

Another reason is I would like Dragon Productions to mature to a better, more professional as my scripting and Andrews scripting is getting a lot better.

Is 2009 the start of something better? YES!!!!!

The name will change this year.

Black Rain (1989) – Review

23 01 2009

Plot : Two New York cops get involved in a gang war between members of the Yakuza, the Japanese Mafia.

Review : I had heard of this but never purchased it on DVD, so when I saw it was on TV I taped it.

At first I was really enjoying this, and liked everything about it…then it got to the half way point and went down hill from here. I was getting bored watching it and felt the ending was kinda rushed.

Overall a disappointing film when I heard so many good things.

Keeping Mom (2005) – Review

22 01 2009

Plot : A pastor preoccupied with writing the perfect sermon fails to realize that his wife is having an affair and his children are up to no good.

Review : This is one weird movie, its like a weird Marry Poppins for adults. It didn’t have many laughs, but had a few good actors. The storyline was weird, and the ending just as strange.

Overall its a very strange movie, that I dont think I would recommend to anyone…not that its was terrible it just wasnt good.

Friends Season Two – Review

22 01 2009

Plot : The lives, loves, and laughs of six young friends living in Manhattan.

Review : Just like season one, this is loaded with laughs and a good story. I have to say I enjoyed this more than the first season, but I think Friends just got better and better with each episode.

Not much to say, Friends is great and a good laugh.

Snakes On A Plane (2006) – Review

20 01 2009

Plot : An FBI agent takes on a plane full of deadly and poisonous snakes, deliberately released to kill a witness being flown from Honolulu to Los Angeles to testify against a mob boss.

Review : Ha this was such a bad movie, and it could have been soo much better but the story was crap. I felt that the snakes were far too smart, which was a little bad and also they introduced a massive snake near the end and it only got probably 30 seconds on screen time…crap it would have been cool to see this go wild.

A better plot and acting might have saved this…but nope…glad I didnt see this in the cinema, really crap.
