Hey all,
Just to let you know i am moving away from WordPress to add my blog to my site.
To keep following my blog just visit http://www.krismunro.co.uk/blog
Thanks see you there
So its been a while since I posted any Secondlife, and AICR related blogs.
Coming over the next few months, probably August I will be hosting AICR Radio which will be a radio station meets chat show. This will reach both Secondlife users and real life users, which is great as it will bring in a new audience rather than just keeping to in game users.
This radio/chat show will be hosted in AICR’s new Coffee Shop called Tenk and Two Sugars, that floats on the AICR sim.
I am currently creating it, and so far its about 90% done. I have just to add a few more seats and some nice objects to fill the place a little better.
Will post some more info when its completed
On Saturday 14th March 2009, I went along to my second Secondlife meetup.
A few folk from the first one were there, plus some new faces. It was a great day, and lots of laughs.
Here are photos from this meetup.

As most of you know I am in Secondlife and I DJ under the name of Tenknation, until now its just been about music and promoting AICR. I also have plans for a TV chat show called The Tenknation Show, which will help promote AICR and also others within SecondLife
I have been in SL for over 2 years now helping AICR and still am, and I know how things work so I am now going to start planning for a Tenknation shop. I will build all the items myself and also try and script all the items myself and with the help of a friend and work friends.
So far I have built a Photo Frame, yes there loads in SL but not like this and style. I have also created a radio changer and will be selling photos that I take in RL and sell them in SL. Plus lots of other things when I have time.
My plan is to have a few shops around a few sims, and start selling in January 2009. To be honest I dont know if I will get it up by then as I am currently working on 4 things for AICR…2 for this year and 2 for 2009. But hey so far I have managed so ….yes I will.
Keep watching for more updates.
Are you Tenkning Mad?
The Tenknation Show has started to get ideas, I want to create an interactive TV show for the SL users where they get to decide whats on it and what i talk about. Think of Diggnation, but the SL version with music and interviews.
I have started to build the set, though my building skills are crap I am taking my time.
Info : SAM Broadcaster is a fully featured internet broadcasting solution with everything you need built right into the software. This includes the automation system, playlist management, encoders, statistics and web intergration. SAM Broadcaster is basically your complete radio station in a box.
Review : I started using SAM as I wanted to DJ within SecondLife for AICR, I heard a lot of different reviews for loads of applications for Linux and Windows….but a lot of good things about SAM. I downloaded the trail and started playing with it, and even experimented with it within SecondLife.
I had several issues, starting with my voice sounded like i was in a metal container. The stream constantly kept buffering which wasnt good for the listener, and the quality was just ok. After some time working with it, I have fixed my voice and the quality is set to be just ok…though the stream still buffers a lot after one hour of streaming. I have reduced the encoding quality but still no luck…this is my only issue at present so hopefully I will sort this to.
My Rating : 8 out of 10
It has begun, after only 4 DJ sets I have been kinda pre-booked for a SL wedding, be a regular DJ at a popular SL Club and several parties.
This is good for me as I will become even more well known than I am at present, and in turn I will be able to spread the work about The Association for International Cancer Research (AICR) within Second Life.
On Saturday 14th June 2008 AICR held there fourth Win a Date Auction, this was held on thier very own sim (AICR) at Club AICR. Myself Kristopher Munro (Kristopher Tenk in SL) and Balthier Dagostino (Christopher Kay in RL) were the hosts for the evening.
There was a total of 17 candidates up for auction, but by the end of the auction that raised to a nice 20. Each candidate was willing to give up one or more hours to help AICR, when a user won a candidate they would contact them and arrange the day/time/place etc of their date. This was not a sex or slave auction within SecondLife, it was just to have fun, meet a new friend and help a worthy cause in the process.
The auction ran very smooth with no Secondlife issues, and lasted for just over 2 hours. After the auction Jack Glenelg (Jack Cumming from AICR) DJ’d for over an hour, then I took over and played till around 1:15am.
The total raised from this auction was a fantastic £440, this includes the money raised for the auction bids and any donations that were made that night.
Below is a list of the candidates, who won them and also for how many Lindens.
Donations = $60000L
Total = $236932L £442.86

On Thursday the 12th June I head the 1st AICR Beach Party within Secondlife, this was also my first time DJn but I wanted to give it a shot. The night went very well and there was a few people there, and everyone loved my voice and my song choice.
This was just the start of Tenknation as I plan on doing a lot more, the reason for this is to get AICR noticed more plus get myself a better name within the game.

That’s me all ready for the virtual charity auction, to help raise money for the Association for International Cancer Research ( www.aicr.org.uk ). The last auction was around November 2007 and I managed to help raise £850 within 2 hours, so my aim is to try and raise over £400 this time and hopefully a lot more.
This auction is held within the online game Second Life, since the start of 2007 till present I have managed to help raise over £5000 for AICR.
If you wana come and watch as its very fun, its on the 14th June at AICR island. Just join and search for AICR and teleport. If you get really stuck send me an IM “Kristopher Tenk”.
