Plot : Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her uncle is convinced it was murder – and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist and the tattooed, truculent computer hacker Lisbeth Salander to investigate. When the pair link Harriet’s disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vangers are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.
Review : As most of the people that read my reviews, you will notice that there are not a lot of book reviews…thats cause am not much of a reader. My new years resolution was to start to read more, and I have this was my 6th book so far which is great for me. I had heard nothing about this book, I just thought the plot sounded interesting…then when a few friends found out I was reading this they said that its great.
When I started this I was very bored, there was lots and lots of details I felt like I was getting pounded with too many tiny details to soon. I read around 3 chapters and decided to stop, not 100% I decided to stop and take it to Italy to give it another shot.
I continued to read this on holiday, and found myself wanting to keep reading. The story really pics up when he gets to the island, and you just want to know more and more. Most of the time I decided to read up to a point, then when I got to that point it was always a mini cliff hanger and I wanted to continue.
I am not normally in to murder mysteries but I really enjoyed this, and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Overall a really enjoyable and interesting read, and I would highly recommend it….just started reading its sequel

Plot : Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a
species that takes over the minds of their human hosts while leaving
their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. Wanderer, the
invading ’soul’ who has been given Melanie’s body, knew about the
challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the
too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t
expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession
of her mind.
Review : I really enjoyed the Twilight books, and was really looking forward to reading this. When I started to read this I didn’t get into the style of writing, the story and was a little put off by that as I was taken in very fast with Twilight.
I have had this book for a while, and most of the time it just sat next to me and I couldn’t be bothered reading it due to not getting into the story, characters and pace of the book. I managed to read up to 50% and it just sat there like that for a few weeks.
If you asked me what I thought of it then, I would have said not really a good read, very slow to get into the characters and I wasn’t sure if I would actually finish it.
So this week I decided that I will finish it and see how it ends, so I read a few chapters a night and this is my thoughts on it now.
Now that I have read a good chunk each night and finished it, its actually not as bad as I originally thought. I did get into the characters, maybe not as much as I did with the Twilight characters but I did get into the main ones.
I am glad I did finish it as I would read its sequel if there was one, as it was an interesting story and ending not as good as Twilight but still good.
Overall I feel this is a book you need to read on a daily basis, and not put it down for a while or you will not pick it up. Due to the story and the details, you need to keep reading it to get into the storyline and pace. I think if I did that to start with I would have probably finished it a while ago.

Plot : To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation, loss and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fate of two tribes hangs. Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating and unfathomable consequences.
Review : I dont want to say too much about what happens, so I dont kill it for anyone who wants to read it so I will try my best not to say too much.
After enjoying the previous three books, I had to purchase and read this one as I was drawn in to the whole story. This has to be the best out of the 4 books, it has a lot more detail and story and also continues to keep the same feel throughout.
At the start of the book something major happens, which causes a massive chain reaction through out the book. This was a big shock as you didnt expect it to happen, and this is a reason that you are so drawn into the book as you want to know what will happen next.
I have to admit, when I got to the end I was very disappointed as i know there isnt going to be a 5th book…well at least not in the near future.
Overall I really enjoyed this, as it developed a lot of the characters story lines, it had more action, more story, more drama. If you have read the previous books, I would recomend you continue and read this as you wont be dissapointed and you wont want to put the book down.
I really hope more sequels follow, as its very well written and you instantly connect with each character and the story is great!

Plot : ‘Bella?’ Edward’s soft voice came from behind me. I turned to see him spring lightly up the porch steps, his hair windblown from running. He pulled me into his arms at once, and kissed me again. His kiss frightened me. There was too much tension, too strong an edge to the way his lips crushed mine – like he was afraid we had only so much time left to us. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob – knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?
Review : This book is more focused on the love triangle, that has been building up over Book 2. The first 70% is focused on this love triangle, and the last 30% is where all the action take places.
This was probably the most interesting in story lines than the previous books, due to all the difficult situations arising. When you start to think everything is all fine again, then BANG you get another shock.
Overall another enjoyable read, and if you liked the previous two books you will love this one. When I was at the second last chapter, I purchased the fourth book so I can finish this one and start on that one
This will be an interesting one when its made into a movie.

Plot : I stuck my finger under the edge of the paper and jerked it under the tape. ‘Shoot,’ I muttered when the paper sliced my finger. A single drop of blood oozed from the tiny cut. It all happened very quickly then. ‘No!’ Edward roared …Dazed and disorientated, I looked up from the bright red blood pulsing out of my arm – and into the fevered eyes of the six suddenly ravenous vampires. For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is more dangerous than Bella ever could have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of an evil vampire but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realise their troubles may just be beginning …
Review : After completing Twilight and enjoying it, I decided to continue and get the second book. For me this was just as good as Twilight the pace, the way it was written is all very similar which is good as this is what I liked about the 1st book.
This time round Edward doesnt appear in the story much, as you are now being told about Jacob and some little secrets he has. Most of the first part of the book is where Bella gets emotional due to Edward leaving, and becoming closer friends with Jacob. For me this was ok but it didn’t have much excitement, then I got closer to the end and bang the pace pics up and gets a lot better due to the action and you wanting to know what is going to happen next.
Overall its a good sequel with an interesting ending, I have ordered the next book so watch out for a review. Its not as fresh as Twilight, but still a solid follow up.

Plot : When 17 year old Isabella Swan moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father she expects that her new life will be as dull as the town. But in spite of her awkward manner and low expectations, she finds that her new classmates are drawn to this pale, dark-haired new girl in town. But not, it seems, the Cullen family. These five adopted brothers and sisters obviously prefer their own company and will make no exception for Bella. Bella is convinced that Edward Cullen in particular hates her, but she feels a strange attraction to him, although his hostility makes her feel almost physically ill. He seems determined to push her away ? until, that is, he saves her life from an out of control car. Bella will soon discover that there is a very good reason for Edward’s coldness. He, and his family, are vampires ? and he knows how dangerous it is for others to get too close.
Review : I heard about this book last year, people saying that if you liked Buffy you would like this. I then managed to get a hold of the audio book, and started listening to it but I couldnt get into it and thought it might be one that you need to read.
I purchased the book before going to Florence, and took it with me and read a little each night. To be honest its nothing like Buffy, the only things that are similar are it contains a high school, and that a vampire falls in love with a human girl.
I found this book very easy to read, and enjoyed the story very much. You were drawn into the world, as the characters were easy to understand and relate to. The plot was ok, little thin but I heard that the sequels are a lot better and far more enjoyable.
As most know I don’t tend to read much, but I did enjoy this and have ordered “New Moon” its sequel. I would like to see the film when it comes out, and I have managed to listen to the films soundtrack which is also very good.
Plot : When a new NASA satellite detects evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory, a victory that has profound implications for U.S. space policy and the impending presidential election. With the Oval Office in the balance, the President dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton to the Arctic to verify the authenticity of the find. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic academic Michael Tolland, Rachel uncovers the unthinkable – evidence of scientific trickery – a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy.
But before Rachel can make her findings known, she realises, perhaps too late, that such knowledge puts her and Tolland in deadly jeopardy. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, they possess only one hope for survival: to find out who is behind this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all?
Review : I enjoyed this book to start with, as it had a lot of nice ideas and the storyline sounded very good. When I got to the half way point it kinda got a little dull and boring, and it was going all over the place and the ideas were very over the top and mega repetitive at times.
After 2 really good enjoyable books, this lacked something they had….for me in order of enjoyment I would do the following :
I have still to read Digital Fortress, that’s why its not included on the above list.
