Plot : They thought they were like everyone else… until they woke with incredible abilities.
Review : When BBC2 started to show this, I watched the first 6 episodes then forgot that it was on and forgot to record it…so I decided to purchase Season 1 and 2 on DVD and finally watch them. I have just finished watching Season 1 so here is what I thought.
Since I had already seen some episodes watching them again was interesting, as there was a lot of details that I had forgotten about…once I got on to the ones that I hadn’t seen I started to get hooked.
I love how each camera angel they use it kinda mimics a comic book section, with the shadow and light details. Each episode was lots of fun, but only every now and then I was left thinking “oh i really need to watch the next one”. I also really liked how all the characters and their lifes some how managed to all intertwine with each other and their back stories.
I started to really like the character Hiro, as he was like a big kid and had a massive task ahead of him and a lot of facial expressions were comical. When I got to the end of the series after enjoying it so much, I was left a little disappointed as the ending wasn’t as spectacular as I had hoped it would have been.
Overall I really enjoyed the series, it had its ups and downs and I cant wait to start Season 2.
My Rating : 8 out of 10
Plot : The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a young girl who
can read people’s minds, and how her life is turned upside down when a Vampire, walks into her place of employment.
Review : I had heard only a little about this, mostly it was interesting and was about vampires so I decided to give this a shot.
This is an interesting show and yes it is about vampires, but 50% of the show is story and the other 50% is about sex and nudity…its like a TV porn vampire series and that kinda sums it up very well. Granted there is nothing with including sex or nudity scenes, but it felt like they put them in there to try and get the viewers and not really focus on getting a good story.
Overall not a very enjoyable series, and I wont be watching season 2.
My Rating : 3 out of 10
Plot : A re-imagining of the original series in which a “rag-tag fugitive fleet” of the last remnants of mankind flees pursuing robots while simultaneously searching for their true home, Earth.
Review : This was presented as one long movie, when I saw it rather than mini episodes so I will review it as a movie.
I used to watch the original when it was shown on TV (probably repeats), and couldnt remember too much about the show. I spotted this very cheap (miniseries and season 1 to 4 box set) and decided to give it a shot, since it was cheap I dont mind if i didnt 100% enjoy it.
After finishing watching it, I was left a little blank…for me it was just too long as I didnt get a feel for the characters very well and some details were lost as too much was happening.
It was good dont get me wrong, just too long and I wasnt drawn into it as I thought I would be. The special FX and sets are great, and the soundtrack works great.
Overall it was just too long, and too much happened for me to get a feel for the characters.
Next season one…

Plot : It’s been a decade since we last saw the crew of Red Dwarf, but while the crew are older they’re still none the wiser. When Lister’s busy day of annoying Rimmer is interrupted by a monstrous attack, it’s pretty much business as usual until a shock development throws Rimmer, Lister, Cat and Kryten back to planet Earth’
Review : I have been a big fan of Red Dwarf, since I first watched it on BBC2 all those years ago. I have the full series on DVD so I was very excited to see what this would be like.
It was really good to see the guys all back together, I was just hoping for the same click that you saw in the original series. To be honest it was just ok, there was a few laughs and there was a few cringe moments but overall it was just ok.
Part 1 was very slow and very dull, it kicked off when Part 2 started and continued with Part 3 which was a relief. I have been told that if you have seen Blade Runner, then you would be laughing a lot of this new mini series but if not a lot of jokes would fly past you.
Overall it was ok, since I am a fan I DO WANT MORE and have been told by one of the main sources that there is good news on the way. This does leave it open for more, and I hope there is more.
I dont want to say too much about this, just in case users havent seen it yet so I will leave it here for now, when I get the DVD I will do a fuller review.

Plot : Awakening within the Dollhouse, with large parts of their original personalities having returned, Echo, Sierra and Victor plan an escape.
Review : For me this was the best episode yet, with this style of show you know that she is going on a mission each week but this didnt happen so it was a nice surprise.
I like this twist in the storyline, and also that you learned a little more back story of a few characters. The action was good, and also the acting was very good.
Overall a nice episode, and very enjoyable.
My Rating : 8 out of 10
Plot : Echo becomes a burglar so she can perform a dangerous art break-in. Meanwhile Ballard challenges Lubov and Adelle makes a disturbing confession.
Review : For me the show isnt getting better at a fast rate, its getting better at a very slow pace which am sure a lot of folk would agree with.
I want more back story, more plot and more about the Dollhouse. Apart from that I am enjoying it but its just slow paced. This episode was interesting as you hear more about ALPHA, and you ECHO gets her memory rebooted….interesting.
Overall its still just an OK series, but I am going to continue watching it.
My Rating : 7 out of 10
Plot : A man is hired to hunt Echo down, so he hires her as a date.
Review : After reading lots of bad reviews for episode 1 (which I liked), I continued and watched Episode 2. This episode for me was a lot better, you started to get more back story and also learn that Echo is remembering more of her past.
I really enjoyed all the little details that was in this episode, and how the action was a lot better than the first episode. I will definitely be continuing to watch the rest of the show, as I am very interested to see where this goes and how Echo will react when she remembers.

Plot : The Dollhouse is a new science fiction series starring Eliza Dushku. The show is about a dollhouse that is very secret, and very illegal, place where wishes come true. Clients with the right connections and enough money can hire “Actives”, people who have been programmed to perfectly fulfill the needs, and desires of their clients. The Actives are people who have chosen, for their own reasons,to surrender their bodies and minds for a five-year stay in the Dollhouse. Now they can be imprinted with any personality, skill, or even muscle memory. They can be the perfect companion, lover, spy, assassin and when the job is done they forget everything. But something is wrong with the Active called “Echo”. No longer just a blank slate waiting for her next assignment, Echo (Eliza Dushku) is remembering flashes of the lives that she has lived and the games she has played, and she is starting to wonder just who she really is.
Episode One : Ghost
Review : I am a big Joss fan, I loved Buffy and Firefly so I was really looking forward to this also its got Eliza who is HOT. This is a very interesting episode, as you learn she has a past and she did something wrong but you don’t know what exactly. She is also sent out on a mission and starts to get flashes or her original memories.
It had parts that were very interesting but others were just “I’ve seen this before”….I hope they start to give more background info on the Dolls House and her story or it will just be a very very repetitive series.
Overall I did enjoy it, but not as much as I was hoping to. I will definitely watch the whole series to see if it gets better, and to see if i get hooked or not. I think this could be one series that will either pick up and be really good, or stay the same and be just ok.

Plot : The lives, loves, and laughs of six young friends living in Manhattan.
Review : Just like season one, this is loaded with laughs and a good story. I have to say I enjoyed this more than the first season, but I think Friends just got better and better with each episode.
Not much to say, Friends is great and a good laugh.
